Ulchi Shamanism is not a specialized technique but a holistic way of life that stretches back to their ancient Neolithic roots.
In 1993, they were invited to come and to the United States and speak about their culture but more specifically about the Art of Classical Siberian Shamanism. For the next 25 years, they taught this course to their students of the West.
They presented their programs at the University of Washington, Burke Museum, Folklife festivals, Opera Houses, and to the general public in various seminar and workshop presentations throughout the United States.
As of 2020, the wisdom keepers and shamans, that I assisted, have all passed away. Currently, I am working with members of the Ulchi tribe to safeguard all of the information that I collected from over 25 years serving as an interpreter and assistant to their last remaining shamans. These historic archives exist in audio and video documentation and will be preserved for future generations of their culture. The Ulchi elders are the authors of this program. These are their words and teachings, not mine. I have translated their instructions as clearly and succinctly for interested students.
This is a program of mastering your drum skills, entering into and out of liminal states of consciousness, dream work principles found in Manchu-Tungus societies, singing the journey, and the nature of spirits. Course and practice materials are provided through video and audio formats.

Most online classes in shamanic journeywork fall into a category known as neo-shamanism.
Those teachings combine a patchwork of notions and techniques borrowed from disparate groups from unrelated tribes and adapted for students in Western societies.
Although they are helpful in encouraging people to reexamine their connection to the natural world, the premise that shamanism can be boiled down to a series of techniques and psychological overlays miss the mark. This course provides the original teachings given by the people who gave the word shaman to the world.
You can't learn the art in a weekend workshop nor truly understand its deep mysterious layers in a year's time.
The Art of Classical Siberian Shamanism is a lifetime practice where you approach, experience, and examine the teachings from a place of patience and respect.
"Learn the principles of nature, spirits, dreams, and traditional drumming and start from there. The shamanic road will be revealed in time."
― Grandmother Nadia Duvan.
